ABOUT US

To set the global standard for independent monitoring and assurance of medical AI.

Our Vision

To ensure every patient benefits from medical AI they can trust.

Our Mission

To democratise access to safe, reliable, and transparent AI in healthcare

The Story of EDAI

Deploying early AI tools in real-world clinics exposed a deeper problem; no one was rigorously proving these algorithms were safe or effective for actual patients. In under-resourced South African hospitals, I’d watched months of training yield just one new radiologist, while AI could scale expertise overnight. The urgency hit hardest when scanning thousands of chest X-rays for tuberculosis and pneumonia; speed was vital, but so was certainty. That tension drove our pivot: we set out to build AI that clinicians could trust without hesitation.

Speed without accountability, however, was a risk we couldn’t ignore. Early deployments revealed silent failures; edge cases where AI confidence masked real errors. This gave birth to RATIFY, our independent assurance platform that delivers real-time error detection, rigorous validation, and full compliance with EU and FDA standards. It provides regulators, hospitals, and doctors with auditable proof that every algorithm performs as promised, every time. RATIFY is the cornerstone of our vision: to set the global standard for independent monitoring and assurance of medical AI.

In 2020, the UK-South African Tech Hub opened the door to Britain’s ecosystem, and momentum surged. A Transformative Tech grant from Innovate UK accelerated RATIFY’s development, while the UK’s world-class research base, robust IP protections, and progressive regulators gave us the foundation to scale. Now headquartered in the UK, we’re expanding RATIFY’s reach into other medical imaging, collaborating with key partners and raising capital to reach global markets.

We’re now embedding RATIFY across imaging pathways, demonstrating that real-time, independent assurance reduces diagnostic errors without disrupting workflows. As the government’s 10-year Industrial Strategy and modernisation plan emerge, we’re helping shape validation frameworks that treat medical AI with the same rigour as new drugs.
